Carrots With Hummus

Carrots are best eaten raw in order to get the most nutritional value. Fresh carrot sticks have the most delightful crunch and their natural sweetness encourages pairing with rich and tasty dips – like hummus! Hummus is such a great savory accompaniment to finger food and can be bought almost anywhere, but it is easy enough to make yourself. Mushy chickpeas are the key, make sure they are cooked extra soft to get that smooth puree consistency. Garlic and lemon juice, along with olive oil, are the other staples. From there you can experiment with your own spices, but cumin is one that comes highly recommended.

Cheese Sticks And Crackers

Crackers are probably the most popular of the finger food snacks, next to chips, of course. They are the most versatile, for sure, serving as tiny little edible trays for the tasty toppings we’ve invented. There’s really no going wrong here, arrange some crackers on a platter around a bowl of dip, or slice up a few salad ingredients and with a touch of mayo you can stack up some really creative looking hors d’oeuvres. Cheese sticks and a bowl of dip is simplicity at its best, brown onion or sweet chilly are some of the yummy flavors that pair well with cheese sticks.

Apple With Peanut Butter

Apples combine with such a large variety of different foods that it’s easy to think of a quick snack to make with them, but if you have ever eaten anything that made you feel like it awakened fond summer memories from your childhood, this was probably that snack. A nice scoop of peanut butter on a spoon and some apple slices, and you’re set for a healthy and delicious treat.

Guacamole And Chips

Guacamole is an all-time favorite – the king of dips. The trick to making good guacamole is actually quite simple! Sour cream. First, mash some ripened avocados with some lemon juice and then blend in some sour cream. The spices are key too! If you don’t enjoy it hot then just leave the chili ingredients out, but garlic and onion powder plus cayenne pepper and salt are the magic combinations. Serve with pretty much any type of chip or crisp!

Watermelon And Feta Cheese

To the inexperienced reader, this might seem like a pairing mistake. Let us assure you that it is something more like a masterstroke of culinary genius. A portion of very easy finger food to prepare and it’s quite eye-catching, these little red and white toothpick appetizers on a platter.
