Start Training ASAP

Some people delay training their pets after getting them home, and it’s a blunder one should never do. You must start training the pet as soon as you bring them home, no matter their age. It will become harder for you and them to learn at a more significant age. The primary purpose of training is to teach the pet the typical response to a particular phrase. Once you have started the training, you must know that the younger pets cannot learn advanced things, and before they achieve a certain age, you should only practice basic commands.

The Same Approach Won’t Work For All

You will be reading a book to get a better idea of the training structure you will follow. Well, if you are just dependent on a single book and believe it will cover everything, you are so wrong. Just like human beings, dogs are also entirely different, and the same approach will not work with two of them. You are recommended to expand your scope and give a thorough read to multiple books where you will get to understand how diverse the training structure can get.

Positive Reinforcement

There are very minute actions and gestures that you need to do when it comes to effective training of your pet. Every time they do something good, you must appreciate the action in a way they can understand. The gesture should also be followed by a reward and these two things must happen in a matter of moments. If you make a delay between these two things, as low as 3-4 seconds, your pet will associate it with something else. Giving your dog/pet positive feedback is extremely important, especially while your pet is in its early training phase. The same should be the case for adversity if their action isn’t something that deserves appreciation.

Inconsistency

This is the most common blunder committed by a majority of pet owners. The training that you are giving them should always remain in force. If you make an exception, they will get confused, and you might see a drastic change in the behavior. We want to state that assume you have restricted them to sit on the couch, and for any reason, you took them to that couch. Next time you will scold them for sitting on the couch, it will play with their minds, and they will not understand why you are allowing them one time and then not. You should also discourage the begging habit as much as you can. You might ask how? It can be done by ignoring them and not giving them food while you are eating.
