A good many of them could empathize with the worn-out mother, and they related stories of restless nights spent with their kids in their own lives. The only issue was that when I opened my eyes, my ten-month-old baby was giggling and bouncing the headboard. I tried to ignore him, but it was impossible. Despite the fact that we are absolutely great, many people are startled when they learn that mothers experience such extreme levels of exhaustion.
